The Johnson Wong Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a 4th year (graduating) student enrolled in the Genetics Stream of the Molecular Genetics and Microbiology Specialist Program and accepted into graduate school. Awarded on the basis of financial need; academic merit will also be considered. Must be an Ontario resident

*Note the award payment will not be made until the student enrols in a graduate program

Applicants should:

1. Demonstrate community involvement in the health, education and/or welfare of children.

2. Demonstrate a commitment to excel in science and interest in scientific research.

  Value: approx. $500     This is an OSOTF award

Application requirements and procedure: 

1. Submit a cover letter including a short statement explaining how you demonstrate the eligibility as described above,

2. Submit a photocopy of your current OSAP assessment.

The Ivan Szak Scholarship In Bacteriology

To be awarded to an outstanding graduate of the Specialist Program in the Microbiology Stream.

All Microbiology students in the MGY program are considered.

Value: approx $750

 No application is necessary. 

The Clarence Fuerst Award

Awarded to the best student in MGY314H1 (Principles Of Genetic Analysis I: Bacterial Genetics) and MGY315H1 (Principles Of Genetic Analysis II)

Awarded by the Division of Teaching labs.

All students in MGY314H1 and MGY315H1 are considered.

Value: approx $250
