Saccharomyces cerevisiae epigenetic control of gene expression during sporulation and novel form of programed death

Postdoctoral Fellow:  University of California, San Francisco
Ph.D.:  University of Oregon
B.S.:  St. Michael's College

Fields of Interest:

  • Cellular and Molecular Structure and Function
  • Genetic Models of Development and Disease

Research Interests:

The lab’s interests concern mechanisms of eukaryotic cellular differentiation. As a model, we use the sporulation program of the budding yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. We study epigenetic mechanisms controlling gene expression during sporulation as well as a new and novel form of programmed death we have recently discovered accompanies this process.
