Research and Teaching:
Johanna received her Ph.D. in molecular and cell biology from UC Berkeley where she studied post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. As a postdoctoral fellow at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School, her research focused on the function of non-coding RNAs in cancer. Throughout her scientific career, she has had the opportunity to mentor and teach students at the graduate, undergraduate and high school level.
