Sonia Nanda, MS, CGC, CCGC, received a Master of Science degree in Genetic Counselling from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2004 and prior to that an Honours in Bachelor of Science Degree in genetics from the University of Western Ontario in 2001. In 2004 she joined the Cancer Genetics Program at The Hospital for Sick Children.  In 2009 she joined the Familial Breast Cancer Research Unit at Women's College Research Institute (at Women's College Hospital) and is a clinical genetic counsellor working with families with hereditary breast and/or ovarian cancer. Additionally, she is involved with a number of research studies related to hereditary breast, ovarian cancer and prostate cancer. Sonia has an appointment at the University of Toronto where she is involved with the genetic counselling program as a clinical supervisor for the Master's students and in reviewing new applications for the program. In 2004 she was certified in Genetic Counselling by the Canadian Association of Genetic Counsellors and in 2005, she received her certification in Genetic Counselling by the American Board of Genetic Counselling (ABGB), Sonia has been involved with the Canadian Association of Genetic Counsellors as a member and as part of the CAGC Certification Board (2009-2013).
