HIV-1 RNA processing by host factor

Postdoctoral Fellow: Roche Institute of Molecular Biology
Ph.D.: Queen's University
B.Sc.: McMaster University

Fields of Interest:

  • Cellular and Molecular Structure and Function
  • Molecular Microbiology and Infectious Disease

Research Interests:

HIV-1 replication is critically dependent upon tight regulation of RNA processing. From a single transcript, over 40 mRNAs are generated. My lab is focused on identify host cellular factors which regulate this process and characterizing small molecules that disrupt it in the hope of developing novel treatments for this disease.
