Ion channel functions in brain development and tumorigenesis

Postdoctoral Fellow:  University of California, San Francisco/Howard Hughes Medical Institute
Ph.D.: Vanderbilt University
B.Sc.: Xiamen University

Fields of Interest:

  • Genetic Models of Development and Disease

  • Cellular & Molecular Structure & Function

Research Interests:

Ion channels are pore-forming proteins that control ion flow across cell membranes. Using multidisciplinary approaches including Drosophila and mouse genetics, xenograft modeling, cell biology and electrophysiology, we study the mechanisms by which ion channels regulate brain development and tumorigenesis, and the therapeutic efficacy of ion channel drugs to treat brain tumor.
